Star striker Shane Smeltz says he’ll remember Saturday night’s 4 goal haul against Melbourne Victory for a long time.

The All White-s international showed why he-s the best striker in the Hyundai A-League with a man of the match performance in the 4-2 win.

“It doesn-t happen every day, I-ll remember it for a long time,” Smeltz said on Sunday morning.

Smeltz has now scored 13 goals for the season and set a host of records:

A-League-s leading goal scorer (62 goals)

Most goals in an A-League game for Perth Glory (4 goals)

Most goals in a A-League season for Perth Glory (13 goals)

In a classic performance against the Victory, Smeltz showed why he-s the complete striker. He scored twice with clinical headers, was composed from the penalty spot before adding his fourth with a brilliant, bending finish from 18m.

A big game player, Smeltz and Perth Glory now enter the finals in brilliant form.

“We need to keep our heads and produce at the right time,” he said.

“With confidence and belief, we need the right result in the first final and it-s all up to us.

“All games are now a cup final.”

Perth Glory-s first final will be at nib Stadium, next Sunday, April 1. Kick-off is at 5pm. The match will be Perth Glory-s first home final since 2004. A massive crowd is predicted.
