Perth Glory-s beach team has completed a record breaking season to win the Vodafone Corporate Beach Soccer championship at City Beach.
In a dramatic final against Box Magazine, the Glory won 2-1 on penalties after the match finished 1-all.
“A fantastic win and a well deserved win,” beamed Glory Chairman, Tony Sage.
“To finish fourth last season and then go through this season undefeated is a wonderful effort.”
Perth Glory Strength and Conditioning coach Peter Cklamovski was the star with a stunning strike in the first half, his 15th goal for the season.
Cklamovski was also on target in the shoot-out along with Nadia Ashton.
“I thought we dominated the match and were unlucky not to win in regular time.
“Credit to the opposition, they hung on but I always felt we were in control,” Cklamovski said.
With the Glory-s senior squad watching the final from the sidelines, striker Branko Jelic was thrilled with the win.
“What a performance! What are the chances that for the second time in one week, Perth Glory has two penalty shoot-outs?” Jelic said.
Team captain Caitlin Roberts said the team will enjoy the off-season before aiming to win back-to-back championships.
