The American is loving life in Western Australia, both on and off the pitch.
Having proved such an important acquisition last season, re-signing Vanessa DiBernardo for season 2016-2017 (on loan from Chicago Red Stars) was crucial for Glory.
The American scored six goals from just eight appearances and claimed the Most Glorious player for the W-League side at the end of season awards night.
Perth Glory and DiBernardo seem to be the perfect fit, with the U20 Women’s World Cup winner praising the club and the city.
“There’s a lot of personalities that make it fun to come and train each week,” the 24-year-old said.
“It’s fun to play together with these girls for Perth,
“It’s just a gorgeous city with so much to do and see,” she added.
The University of Illinois graduate said that football means a host of different things from her perception of the game in the early days to the changing scope in her career.
“It used to be something I’d do for fun, it’s something that’s been big in my family,” she said.
“It’s not just a sport, it’s a way to grow as a person,
“I think, as I’ve gotten older I’ve realised that,” she added.
The number 10, who scored an outstanding match-sealing strike from outside the box against Victory last weekend, says she’s formed some strong friendships during her time with the club.
“I live with Alyssa Mautz, who I live with at home (in the US) as well, so I live with her and Nikki Stanton, but Sam Kerr is around a lot too, I’m just with those girls all day long,”
DiBernardo and the rest of the squad will look to make it back-to-back wins for the fist time this season against Sydney FC at Dorrien Garden this Sunday.
Kick-off is at 4:00PM.
