Glory’s Youth Team face their first away fixture of the new Foxtel Youth League campaign on Saturday as they head to CB Smith Reserve to take on Melbourne City (kick-off 1.30pm local time).

Richard Garcia’s side were downed 3-0 by Adelaide United in their season-opener last weekend, while City enjoyed the bye.

The Victorians were only denied last season’s Conference A title and a place in the Grand Final by Brisbane Roar’s superior goal-difference, but Glory nevertheless managed to secure an impressive 3-3 draw on their last visit to CB Smith Reserve.

Kristian Popovic’s last-gasp effort earned a deserved point for the visitors, with Daniel Stynes and Ethan Brooks supplying the other goals inside the opening quarter.

Following Saturday’s game, Glory will return to Melbourne to take on Victory next Friday, with that game acting as a curtain-raiser for the club’s Hyundai A-League clash with the navy-and-whites at AAMI Park.
