Following the Glory-s first loss of the season, 1-nil to Gold Coast, here are the post game declarations from both teams.
Perth Glory coach Dave Mitchell:
“Obviously losing your undefeated record and losing at home is very disappointing but we didn’t deserve to win today.
“We had too many players probably not at the races and that’s the most concerning point.
“They (Gold Coast) did their homework, they did very well and stopped us playing our natural game and we weren’t good enough to overcome that.”
Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg:
“I think the way we played the first 60 minutes, we deserve what we get.
“I always believed that we have had a good team and we were quite good today. I believe this year we will be a better team.
“Our away record so far is better than the average. Not many teams will come here and get the three points.
“Perth played against us like a carbon copy of the way they played against Wellington (last week), so obviously we prepared for it.”
Bleiberg on Glory Captain Jacob Burns:
“Jacob Burns became like a bit of Vinnie Jones.
“Did you know? Did you notice what’s happened during the game? Remember what Vinnie Jones is famous for?”
“Ask (Gold Coast midfielder) Zenon (Caravella). Zenon is still complaining.”
Jacob Burns on Miron Bleiberg comments:
“If you give it out, you’ve got to be able to take it.
“It’s a man’s game. If they want to get their handbags out after the game, so be it.”
Glory defender Jamie Harnwell:
“We just didn-t turn up to play today.”
