The Soccer Schools enjoyed record participation with over 150 junior footballers joining in and learning new techniques from professional players and coaches.
Over the last two weeks Perth Glory FC ran school holiday programmes at Subiaco AFC-s and Sorrento FC-s training grounds and both two day clinics were extremely successful. The Soccer Schools enjoyed record participation with over 150 junior footballers joining in and learning new techniques from professional players and coaches.
At both Soccer Schools the juniors got to meet their heroes and practice their new tricks and skills under the watchful eye of the Perth Glory FC coaches and players. Perth Glory-s youngest goal scorer Adam Taggart commented, “It was absolutely fantastic to see so many talented juniors playing football. The standard was really good and all the players showed top quality attitudes. We love coming down and supporting our soccer clinics, I scored some fantastic goals in the small sided games!
The Soccer Schools in Sorrento held a special significance for one of the A League-s most talked about right backs. Scott Neville commented “Coaching the juniors at Sorrento was a great experience for me as Sorrento was a huge influence on my development as a player. Watching all the players performing their tricks and skills was a joy to be a part of. I-m definitely looking forward to the next one and hopefully one or two of the players can one day play for Perth Glory – there was definitely enough talent there.”
This is the second time under the new “Glory 4 Kidz” banner that Perth Glory have organised holiday clinics. Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon said “Michael Garcia and I were ecstatic with the level of interest in the Soccer Schools. We are always trying to connect Perth Glory FC players and coaches with the community and the huge participation levels are evidence that what we are trying to achieve is beginning to work well. We-re looking forward to continuing to work as hard as we can to ensure the football fans of Western Australia can participate in a development centred environment of the highest quality – as well as having as much fun as possible!”
Each player practiced new techniques, skills and played huge amounts of football. Spectators and parents who stayed for the two days were treated to players achieving the three objectives set out at the start of the clinic

Adam Levine, Coach of Menora Flames said, “I would like to say a big thank you for all your training and hard work with the kids the last two days! I was fortunate to be able to watch most of the clinic, both you and your coaching staff are amazing! With people like you in WA coaching and developing these kids, I think we have a lot to look forward to in the future as far as producing great soccer players. Look forward to the next Soccer Schools!”
