Two full days of fun and learning with the PERTH GLORY SOCCER SCHOOLS
The Perth Glory Soccer Schools are held over the school holidays. They are a brilliant way of keeping the kids occupied and happy whilst developing and learning soccer skills from some of the best coaches in the industry. And as an extra bonus, the kids get to meet our Glory players as well as take away some pretty cool stuff.
The Soccer Schools are returning in the next school holidays at Melville City Soccer Club-s Gairloch Reserve and Inglewood United-s 6PR Stadium. Consistent with their Community and Development philosophy, the Soccer Schools seek to balance fun with development and learning.
Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon said,
“We enjoyed record participation during the second edition of our Soccer Schools and we-re excited about the potential to replicate and better those numbers. Our main aim is to involve as many junior footballers as possible with the Glory Football Club so that the junior players can meet and interact with the Glory players. The other major factor is to ensure that every junior footballer – from social, recreational and elite can benefit from training and playing with the Glory players and coaches.”
The third edition of the Soccer Schools will see the introduction of Perth Glory FC legend Bobby Despotovski who is proudly added to the ranks of our coaching staff!
During an illustrious career Despotovski won two NSL league titles, scored 131 goals and played 241 games. He is widely regarded as the finest player to have pulled on the Perth Glory strip. Despotovski who is a qualified B license coach is a truly welcome addition to our group of quality coaches.
Community and Development Coach Bobby Despotovski commented,
“Grassroots development and community engagement are exceptionally important if Perth Glory are to bring back the crowds I enjoyed playing in front of – the Soccer Schools are vital in achieving both these goals and I-m really looking forward to getting started”
Perth Glory FC-s new signings will also be available to sign autographs, answer questions and most importantly to join in with the exercises conducted by our Community and Development coaches.
As well as learning new skills and meeting the Glory, all players will receive great Soccer Schools- giveaways, and special prizes will be awarded to players who consistently achieve the Soccer Schools three simple objectives;
• Smile – Enjoy their football
• Sweaty Shirt – Work as hard as they can
• (New) Skill Set – Always trying to improve
