Former England, Arsenal and Everton striker Francis Jeffers has been named in the Newcastle Jets squad for Saturday-s clash with Perth Glory.
It will be the 30 year-olds first game for the Jets this season after a brief stint in Newcastle last season.
“I am looking forward to getting out there and playing,” Jeffers said as he received the news his working visa had been issued.
“It will be good to start my time back here with a home game and in front of a home crowd.
“It will take some time for me to adjust to being here but in a couple of weeks I should be fine.
“When you return to a club or join a new club it is important to get that first game behind you.
“I am hoping that this weekend I will get some football behind me.”
