Perth Glory Women striker Kate Gill says she can-t wait to get back playing in purple when the 2012/13 Westfield W-League gets underway this weekend.

The former Asian Player of the Year missed last season-s campaign after sustaining a serious knee injury and needed a full reconstruction.

Despite returning to the Westfield Matildas fold earlier this year, this weekend-s clash against Melbourne Victory will be Gill-s first game back in Perth Glory colours.

“I just can-t wait for the game to begin,” said Gill.

“It-s been a very long time and it will be good to be back playing with the girls again.

“I-ve got to give plenty of thanks to Kenny Lowe and the Boys National Training Centre for assisting me in my rehabilitation and getting match fit in the local State League.”

Glory coach Jamie Harnwell has recruited strongly with Gill and fellow Westfield Matildas Aivi Luik and Collette McCallum signing on for the upcoming season, with the latter named club captain.

England goalkeeper and Chelsea captain Carly Telford has also joined the Glory with two other internationals; Canadian Sasha Andrews and Kiwi Liz Milne.

Sunday morning will see the Glory host a very different looking Melbourne Victory after having a reshuffle of their own.

“Yeah we don-t know too much about them, but Mike Mulvey has taken over and it is going to be a very tough game,” said Gill.

“I-m just hoping to get through the 90 minutes, play my part and hopefully we can start the season with three points.”

Perth Glory A-League supporters are encouraged to attend before making their way to nib Stadium for the men-s match against Melbourne Heart at 2pm.
