The capacity of nib Stadium for Sunday’s game has been increased to 11,179

Perth Glory is delighted more fans will be able to watch Sunday-s big game against Western Sydney Wanderers at nib Stadium.

Today the stadium-s official capacity was increased to 11,179 for the game with the Southern Family Stand finished ahead of schedule.

“Perth Glory is delighted with the new Southern Family Stand,” Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly said.

“The increased capacity now allows those fans who could not attend previous games the chance to see Perth Glory live.

“The Family Stand is also alcohol free and one of the cheapest family entertainment tickets.

“Perth Glory would like to thank the State Government, VenuesWest, the Department of Sport and Recreation and in particular BGC Construction for bringing forward the completion date.

Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron said the opening of the Southern Family Stand was another milestone in the first stage of the stadium redevelopment, due for completion in March 2013.

“The new stand offers greater spectator comfort with better viewing and some of the best sightlines for rectangular sports in Australia. These will be on a par with Melbourne-s Etihad Stadium,” Mr Waldron said.

“Fans of soccer and rugby in Perth will now be closer to the action as well as feeling more comfortable while watching their favourite teams.”
