The 28-year-old has not missed a single Hyundai A-League game since joining Glory ahead of the 2011-2012 campaign and welcomed the opportunity to pledge his long-term future to the club.
“I’ve signed for another three years after the end of the season, so it’s effectively another four years here,” he said.
“I feel that the club is moving in a very exciting direction and one that I want to be a part of.
“With Alistair (Edwards), Gareth (Naven) and Scott (Miller) on board, it’s a really exciting time to be a part of this great club.
“I think I’ve also come to a point in my a career where I needed some security.
“I’ve just recently got married and we want to start a family, so that was a major factor as well.”
The former Central Coast Mariners and Wellington Phoenix shot-stopper has become a firm favourite with the Glory faithful since arriving in the west and is keen to repay that support as he approaches the peak of his powers.
“One thing that I’m very lucky to have is a great relationship with the supporters,” he said.
“They seem to appreciate the way that I go about my business and I really appreciate their support for me.
“They create a great atmosphere for us out there and it’s a great honour that they sing a song specifically for me.
“It gives me a massive lift and really pumps me up.
“They say with goalkeepers that the peak time is in the early to mid-30s and I haven’t reached that yet, so hopefully I can improve, keep doing my best for Perth Glory and win a championship in the next few years.
“It’s a great club and I feel lucky to be part of it.
“Hopefully me signing this long-term deal will show people exactly how much I love the club.”
Head Coach Alistair Edwards, meanwhile, believes that Vukovic’s new deal is another indication of the progress being made by the club and is adamant that the popular Sydneysider could yet force his way back into Socceroos contention.
“Danny is a crowd favourite,” he said, “the players love him and he loves being a Glory player.
“It’s a massive plus for Perth Glory that he has pledged his long-term future to the club.
“He’s a quality goalkeeper and for me, he really should be very much in the frame as far as the Socceroos are concerned.
“He has really bought into what we’re trying to achieve at the club and the direction we’re moving in and we’re delighted that he’ll be with us for the next four years.
