Perth Glory can confirm that PGFC Academy defender Alex Garbowski has completed a move to leading Swedish top-flight side, BK Hacken.
The 16-year-old central defender, who was a standout performer throughout his time in the PGFC Academy, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Gothenburg-based club who won the Allsvenskan title in 2022, the Swedish Cup in 2023 and competed in the UEFA Europa League group stage earlier this season.
Garbowski was quick to acknowledge the role the PGFC Academy and its coaching staff played in shaping his career to this point.
“I am grateful to all the PGFC Academy staff and coaches, especially to previous coaches Moe and Nasa Atekhis, who have guided and nurtured my football development,” he said.
“They taught me to always work hard, stay disciplined and focused when times are tough and always believe in myself.
“It was an honour wearing the purple Glory shirt and I am excited for what lies ahead for me in Europe.”
