The unbeaten PGFC Academy First Team are expecting a tough battle against Armadale SC when the two sides meet at the Sam Kerr Football Centre on Saturday (kick-off at 3pm).
Glory have collected five points from their three NPL WA outings thus far this term, following their opening-day win over Inglewood United by drawing with Floreat Athena and Balcatta Etna.
Armadale, meanwhile, have picked up just two points, but Academy First Team Head Coach John Walmsley has still been impressed by what he has seen from the southern suburbs club so far.
“They’ve been really competitive in the games they’ve played… and put in two really good performances against strong teams in Bayswater City and Perth RedStar,” he told the Hour of Glory Radio Show.
“They’ll provide a good challenge for us.
“I’m sure they’ll be quite physical and want to be direct and get balls into the box, so the challenge for us is making sure we can deal with those things and then be effective in possession and get in behind them.
“We know what they’re about and we look forward to the challenge they’ll provide.”
Ahead of the First Team game, both the Under-18s and Under-20s will be in action, with the former looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Balcatta Etna last weekend and the latter seeking to maintain their 100% start to the season.
Alfie Knight and Max Naylor have both scored twice for the 20s, while leading the goalscoring chart for the 18s are
TadiswaShaun Mutyavaviri (2) and Tyler Nyabinde (2).
Saturday will get underway with the U18s at 11am, followed by the U20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
Do get along and support the lads if you can.
