The PGFC Academy First Team got their 2024 NPL WA campaign off to the perfect start on Saturday as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Inglewood United.
With a host of potential First Team players absent on A-League duty, Head Coach John Walmsley fielded a particularly youthful side, but they acquitted themselves extremely well in what was a tightly-contested clash.
The key moment arrived ten minutes from time when Jaylan Pearman bent in a free-kick from the left and Daniel Jankuloski got in front of his marker in a crowded box to glance the ball home.
Earlier in the day, the Under-18s also collected three points, Tyler Nyabinde (2) and substitute TadiswaShaun Mutyavavire bagging the goals in a 3-0 win.
And the Under-20s made it an opening-round clean sweep as Max Naylor scored their game’s only goal 15 minutes from time.
All three teams return to action on Saturday (23rd March) when Floreat Athena will provide the opposition at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
Kick-off for the Under-18s is at 11am, followed by the 20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
