Game time the focus for Lowe

Tuesday night will see Glory continue their pre-season preparations by taking on Perth SC in a friendly to be played at Dorrien Gardens (kick off at 7pm).

The club’s first pre-season outing at Inglewood provided an invaluable 45-minute run-out for many of the first-team squad and Head Coach Kenny Lowe is planning to use the Perth SC clash to get a similar amount of game time into some of those who missed out last midweek.

“The likes of Chris Harold, Marc Warren and Joseph Mills haven’t had any game time, so we need to get them involved,” he said.

“And then we’ve got those who played a half last week who we can now look to build up to maybe an hour or so.”

Like Inglewood, Perth SC are currently mounting a serious challenge for the PS4NPLWA title and boast a bang-in-form striker in the form of Gustavo Catarcione who has 15 league goals to his name so far this term.

And Lowe is therefore expecting his charges to be given another stern test.

“It’ll be a good workout against a side that has been playing well,” he said, “and that’s exactly what we need one week out from our Westfield FFA Cup tie against Heidelberg United.

“Obviously the objective for us is to hit the ground running in that game and this Perth SC friendly is a key step in ensuring that we do that.

“It was great to see so many of our members and fans coming along to support us at Inglewood and I hope we’ll see that again on Tuesday night, ideally in better weather!”

Admission at Dorrien Gardens is free, so get along and lend the lads your support if you possibly can.
