Perth Glory FC will face Hyundai A-League Premiers Melbourne Victory FC in the Westfield FFA Cup final next Saturday, November 7 at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

Melbourne defeated Victorian state league outfit Hume City tonight 3-0 in the second Semi-Final  in front of 6,675 at AAMI Park.

“Again it’s disappointing that we’ve been forced to travel interstate, after qualifying for our second consecutive FFA Cup Final. We put a strong case forward to the FFA outlining why we felt we ought to host the event in Perth. We would have loved to host the FFA Cup Final in front of our loyal and dedicated fans and Members but we have accepted the situation and will move forward in the spirit of the game” said club CEO Peter Filopoulos said.

“All we can do now is go to Melbourne and win the Cup on Victorian soil and add the silverware to our cabinet. We have already demonstrated our resilience as a club on the back of a tough end to last season and the playing group has performed exceptionally well. Going forward we have proposed that the FFA Cup Final be played over two legs: home and away. As it stands, the current host venue selection criteria is skewed towards the bigger teams and cities and it must be addressed in the future” he said.

Glory advanced to the FFA CUP Final after defeating Newcastle Jets, Lions FC, Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City.

Perth will prepare for its upcoming RD 4 Hyundai A-League match against the Wanderers in Sydney this weekend before taking on Victory in the Cup Final.
