Perth Glory FC has begun its pre-season campaign in a tightly contested hit-out against Filipino side Global FC at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

Head coach Kenny Lowe sent out a young starting line-up featuring Taylor Tombides, Aryn Williams, Mitch Oxborrow, Brandon Wilson, Joe Knowles and Kosta Petratos with experienced striker Andy Keogh and Socceroo Josh Risdon rested after the first half.

The second 45′ saw veterans Dino Djulbic, Nebo Marinkovic, Rostyn Griffiths and Richard Garcia come into the fray.

The best chance of the match fell to Glory winger Chris Harold in the 86′, when he found himself one-on-one with Global’s keeper but he sent the ball over the bar.

New Perth recruit and ‘keeper Nick Feely wasn’t troubled in between the posts and kept a clean sheet for his home-town club.

Glory’s next match will take place this Saturday night against a United Football League (UFL) All-Stars team at Rizal Stadium with kick-off at 7pm local time.

Glory rounds out its 10-day pre-season tour with an exciting match against the Azkals (Philippines National team) next Tuesday night.
